Angela To | Optometrist

After sampling life in various different cities- Scottsdale, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles, the Pacific Northwest was calling my name. Lured by the mountains, ocean and forests as well as artisan goods, I recently made the move out west and am excited to become a part of the Portland community. I love seeing patients of all ages, but have a particular fondness for working with children. In my time away from work, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, traveling, discovering culinary gems, baking, spending time with my husband and seeing the world through the eyes of our two young sons.

Dr. Angela To received her optometric degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed her residency training in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy at the Southern California College of Optometry. She then joined ICO as a full-time faculty member in 2011. She taught students in the following courses: Clinical Methods &Ā  Procedures, Binocular Vision Disorders, Infant/Child Development & Management and Strabismus & Amblyopia Diagnosis & Management. She also supervised students in the Primary care, Contact lens, Vision Therapy and Pediatric clinics. While at ICO, she was an examiner for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG), a group whose research is responsible for much of our current knowledge of treatment of amblyopia and strabismus. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and a consultant for the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education. She has presented posters and vision therapy workshops at the national AAO meetings. She grew up in Canada and received her undergraduate degree in Natural Science from the University of Calgary.
