mikliIf you could create your own pair of glasses what would they look like?
What would they say about you? Would they be subtle, delicate, an unobtrusive facial garnishment? Would they explode with personality, hinting at who might be peering through them? See Video

A pair of glasses is no longer just a utilitarian means to an end, it can be a defining and inspiring accessory. This attitude has been alive for some time now, and no one is as intent on this explosion of personality as French designer Alain Mikli.
His lines have played liberally with vivid colors and eccentric shapes.
The spectacle visionary jump started his design studio in 1978, in Paris. Right out of the gate he was bending rules and creating in your face on your face individuality.
By the early 80’s Elton John shamelessly donned his outrageous shapes and styles; ever since he has been making appearances on faces of fashion icons worldwide.

Alain himself takes part in the creation and design of each of his lines, formulating ideas and building each handmade frame. The Alain Mikli brand itself has many patents on unique and forward thinking designs. One of those designs is the Chaam hinge- it incorporates a spring hinge interior controlled and anchored by a hook and screws, affording more precise adjustments.

Alain Mikli also focuses its efforts on promoting growth of cultural awareness of the world we live in. The company has teamed up with a The musƃĀ©e du quai Branly to make the visual arts more accessible to those with visual impairments. Some of his efforts interpret aboriginal works for those with visual impairment. See video

Alain mikli frames are full of vibrant colors mingling in quirky, unique designs. They are confident and unapologetic. They are not for those who wish to be understated. These glasses say that the wearer is as bold and confident as the spectacles that frame their eyes.
