Dr. Allen Kim | Optometrist

A California native, I was first drawn to Oregon in 2009 to attend optometry school at Pacific University. Since then, my unbridled love for the Northwest and my passion for optometry have grown exponentially. Is it the clean air? The decadent food? The craft beer, or the quality music? For me, it’s always been the people. The best part of my profession is being able to meet amazing new people every single day. On top of that, I have the privilege of using my skills to help them use their sense of sight to further appreciate the beauty of the Northwest. Working at Myoptic, I’m blessed to have the opportunity to care for the people of Portland and to have the support of a stellar staff who share the same passion of caring for our patients.

When I’m not examining eyeballs I am doing my best trying to find the most delicious food and drinks Portland has to offer. Have a recommendation? Please let me know! In my free time I love going to shows, playing around on the guitar or enjoying a good book in a Portland coffee shop.

Dr. Kim is a residency trained Optometric Physician graduating from Pacific University in 2013.  He has lectured at medical centers, colleges and at the American Academy of Optometry.  He was awarded the Brian Lee Hill, OD ’95 Memorial Fund Award and has been part of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
