Digital technology has augmented many aspects of our modern lives. It makes sense that lens production would benefit from the technical advances of computer aided generation along with everything else in our world. Myoptic is proud to offer our patients digital lenses, for both simple (single vision) and more complex (multifocal) lenses designs. Digital technology allows us to create lenses for your prescription, frame choice, and lens material choice, providing you with the most customized vision possible.
After you have selected your frame, we take 3D images that digitally measure (to within 1/10th of a millimeter) your eyes in glasses. These images allow us to measure where your eyes sit in the frames, how far the frames sit off your face, the angle at which the glasses rest on your nose, and the curvature of the frame on your face. Using those details, your lenses are made specifically for your eyes and frame choice. With conventional lenses, your prescription was manufactured onto pre fabricated lenses. Digital lenses, however, are generated for your eyes in the most exacting manner possible, from a big disc. Rather than fitting you into a box we can make lenses that are designed for you. Paired with a high quality anti-reflective coating, digital lenses really make a significant difference in helping you see more clearly for years to come.
