Over the last decade, researchers have been surprised to discover that drinking alcohol, in particular red wine, has a positive effect on our ocular health.

Grapes contain an anti-oxidant compound known as resveratrol. Resveratrol seems to protect against the 3 most common and destructive diseases found in American eyes: cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

The very highest concentration of resveratrol is found in the pinot noir grape, Oregon’s specialty. Imagine leaving Myoptic Optometry with a prescription for a glass of Eyrie pinot!
